Ameresco, an American company with over 2.5 billion dollars of market capitalization on the NYSEand leader in energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, acquires Enerqos Energy Solutions, energy service company of Milan, to expand its existing presence in Europe.

Ameresco, founded in 2000, is a leading cleantech integrator and developer, owner and manager of renewable energy resources, headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts (USA) and more than 1,000 employees providing local expertise in the United States, Canada and Europe. The company already offers clean energy solutions in several European countries, including the UK, Ireland and Greece. Ameresco’s sustainability services to support customers’ pursuit of Net Zero Emissions include modernization and efficiency of energy infrastructure, construction and management of distributed energy resources. Ameresco has successfully completed energy-saving and environmentally friendly projects with federal, state, and local governments, health and educational institutions, housing authorities, and commercial and industrial customers.
Applying Ameresco’s established business model and ENERQOS’ scale, experience and regional scale, the acquisition by Ameresco is well positioned to build a business and pipeline of high-growth clean energy solutions across Europe.

The acquisition is expected to close in March 2023. Financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.
